Ground mounted solar power systems are simply solar modules held in place by racks or frames. These are then secured to ground-based mounting supports.
Solar ground mount panels are best for when roof mounted panels can’t be fitted due to planning permission issues, the structure of the roof in question, or if you need to generate more power for your domestic needs. For example, you may run a business from home or your home is simply larger than average.
Ground mounts are great, and Brite Energy can do them. They might cost a little out of pocket and you’ll need an unobstructed area on the ground. But hey, we do them well and are happy to come out for free and suggest the best fit for your home.
Your ground mount solar panels need to stay perpendicular to the sun as much as possible. So on February 5th set them to the same angle as your latitude, then on May 5th subtract 15 degrees from your latitude.
On August 5th change it back to your latitude. Then on November 5th you can capture that low southern sun by adding 15 degrees again. All sounds a little tricky but once you’ve done this a few times it’ll be easy!
